Field Trip to the Rainbow Skifield
Saturday, 16 December 2017 8:00 am
There is a fee of $115 for the group and this will be payable by the participants, depending on numbers attending. Payment to group leaders, Ross and Chris Beech on the day. Travel reimbursements to drivers, suggested approx $20 per person. Vehicles: preferably 4 wheel drive, though cars with god clearance and drivers competent on gravel roads would be okay. All vehicles to gather at the carpark just off SH63 at the start of the road through the Rainbow (part way up the hill towards Wairau Pass, not the Rainbow Station access road on the flat)
Bring your lunch and smokos for a great day on the alpine fields of the ski area and surrounds. Leave the ski field approx 3pm, back in Blenheim by 5pm. We hope to photograph alpine flowers and there will be great landscape opportunities as well. Sign up sheet at camera club meeting on 9th November.

Spirit of the Wairau Exhibition
Friday, 13 July 2018 12:00 am
Spirit of Wairau - plenty of scope here to capture the spirit of the river, be it a sunrise, sunset landscape, perhaps a fisherman on the river, impressive boulders etc, anything that evokes a response from the viewer. The plan is to select some of the best images and display them (possibly for sale) at a venue yet to be decided such as a cafe/winery/gallery. This will bring the importance of the river to Marlborough, to the public and awareness of the Club, with the expectation of new member enquiries.
Submissions to "Spirit of the Wairau" Exhibition: ideally each person will enter 4 digital images, although less than 4 is OK. The digitals should be the usual 1620x1080 sizing. From these digitals, a Club selection panel will choose those images that best portray the Wairau. Therefore, please retain your original digital images which should be of sufficient size to enable a print to be made for exhibition to the public sometime in August/September as stated above. The Committee hopes to acquire some funds to offset the cost of printing.
This event is not on our set subject calendar but entrants could collect images over the summer, autumn/winter and complete their submission in time for viewing at the Club in July.
In making your images there are several possibilities: 4 diverse images; 4 images which are a set, ie have some feature or features that link them together; 2 images taken in Spring and 2 images of the same subject taken in Autumn, etc etc.
It will be an achievement to have one of your images selected for the Exhibition. It is also planned to select the best group of 4 digital imagaes submitted by one individual.
