The final 11 selected by Harry Matthews, Owen Dunne and Roger Thwaites.  We had 42 entries and all were worth of selection, it was not an easy task for the judges.  At club night on 13 September, Robin Blackmore from the "Save the Wairau" group came along and gave the club members some history of the Wairau River which was very interesting to hear and gave us a good appreciation of this mighty river which runs 170kms from the Spencer Mountains to the sea.   We all now have more appreciation of the river and all its beauty and it has been a fun challenge to photograph and do justice to the Wairau River.   The finalists will have their images exhibited at the Home Cafe once the printing and matting is done, then we may consider finding another venue as well, for example one of the wineries over the summer months.
