When putting prints into the club competition, these should be on a backing board with a matt around them up to a size of no more than 16” x 20” which includes the matte.
Most national and international competitions have this same sizing policy, so you are able to enter the same image if it has done well at club level.
Avoid using coloured matts – these tend to take away the impact of an image, and draws attention to the matt itself. Choose black, White, or off-white.
You are able to get matts cut in different sizes, and are hinged so you can reuse them from competition to competition, just changing the image, to save money.
