Fifteen members enjoyed a beautiful day in the Pine Valley with fungi in mind. Roger Thwaites led the group who appreciated a mini workshop on macro photography and tips about photographing fungi, before we set off down the track towards the swing bridge. It soon became apparent that this was a good time of the month for fungi as several varieties were obvious on the track just a few minutes after setting off.

Most of us were headed for the big log which lies on the lower track after the swing bridge, generally abundant with fungi and we were not disappointed today. However the beech trees also housed other varieties as did the forest floor. Robin’s were flitting around our feet but remained mostly unphotographed as macro lenses not really suitable, another day perhaps…...

Judging by the conversation when we regrouped at the carpark for much needed food and drinks, all were happy with what they had seen and photographed.
